During DNA splicing, what makes intron, introns? Why are they removed by the spliceosomes and not exon?

During DNA splicing, what makes intron, introns? Why are they removed by the spliceosomes and not exon?
Coding dna are regions of dna that make proteins. Non coding DNA doesn’t DIRECTLY make amino acids. Introns are non coding dna so we want to remove them from our mRNA and only keep our coding dna which are used for our amino acids
