Well i went to borders and flicked through their dvd section and wrote down a few titles that jumped out at me. Now im going to go rent some of them so i can choose one for my related text for my english area of study (changing self) and so i dont have to pay to rent them all :p , i was wondering if anyone has seen any of the following and think that they represent personal change (the change of an individual) in any way. Also, are they any good??

Three Dollars (an aussie flick...might not b well known)
Wah-Wah
Maria full of grace
Candy
Angela's Ashes
Garden State

thanks a bunch if u can help

i've only seen garden state and candy out of those
both offer trite examples of 'changing selves' in that main characters undergo 'change'
i'd recommend using candy as an extra source
it's pretentious and australian - the markers will love it

Maria Full of Grace is decent if you want to tackle the 'real issues' like poverty, drug trafficking, the migrant experience etc.

The Rage In Placid Lake

Well I thought it was good...not very 'deep' though.
