do ESL instead of Advanced? (1 Viewer)

after the half-yrly, loads of ppl is going to drop down to standard or ESL. although I'm not one of them and I don't struggle with advanced, I would like to ask it is a wise move to change to ESL since I only started australian school in year 6?




EDIT: just received my exam back. 72% and ranked 7. should i stay for this year and consider to change next year? or i should change it to ESL right now (because we only have one week to change our subject)?

wat course do u want to do?

if your desired uni course does not requier advanced/standard as a prerequisite...then definitely do ESL. i would do it instead of 3U english if i could
and if my desired uni course didn need it..
ESL scales better than either course including extension 1 and 2 !!!
the markers read ur ESL hsc paper..and its like

but..if ur desired uni course is requires it..the i tinhk you should continue advanced.! and dont even contemplate dropping to standard xD

your not eligible for ESL, IIRC you need have been less than 5 year in australia at the completion of year 12?

This I believe is correct.

Would've been different if you were in year 7 when you started.

isnt 5 years before the start of prelim? which means year 6?

I remember reading 5 years at the completion of year 12, i might wrong though

maybe go ahead if you want easy marks

but if you want bonus points (for doing well) i do suggest you take english advanced

and having english advanced would have more benefit in uni as i heard...

because of scaling
plus the stuff you learn would be much more interesting than ESL
if you do ESL you might fall asleep :L

you could work harder to reach the 80s i guess
or maybe drop it by term 3 this year...

maybe the content will be much more interesting for advanced, but their scaling is similar so thats why im considering to drop down.
