I was wondering whether internal assessments count towards our ATAR?
If so, does that mean only our external HSC is the one that counts??
nope. this is correct for all NON VET subjects...however for VET subjects like this one VET IT...only the end of yr 12 HSC examination is counted...everything else is just school based (for school ranks) and competency tasks.Your school's assessment tasks contribute in total 50% to your final marks and yes they do count towards your ATAR which uses the final HSC mark not just the exam.
This is correct! Although you can choose not to do the HSC examination but most schools will automatically enroll you for the exam unless you tell them otherwise.nope. this is correct for all NON VET subjects...however for VET subjects like this one VET IT...only the end of yr 12 HSC examination is counted...everything else is just school based (for school ranks) and competency tasks.
You are of course correct and I stupidly forgot that IT is a VET subject and confused it with the other computer courses.nope. this is correct for all NON VET subjects...however for VET subjects like this one VET IT...only the end of yr 12 HSC examination is counted...everything else is just school based (for school ranks) and competency tasks.
This might be a stupid question, but the trial paper that we do for IT does that count as our internal mark for IT? As I do IT at TAFE. Or does the HSC IT Exam count for both our internal and external mark? You are of course correct and I stupidly forgot that IT is a VET subject and confused it with the other computer courses.
For VET courses only the final exam counts to the ATAR. For all non-VET subjects school based assessments count 50% of the final mark.
Digging threads here but just wanted to add. They will base off the highest exam mark and adjust the internal marks accordingly, hence why your ranks are so crucial. It is not the school marks itself that will be counted, they're just there to determine each person's ranking.
