The Year 11 course, aka prelim does not count towards the NSW HSC.

However, approximately 30%, of prelimary mathematics content may appear in the hsc course.

Thats because prelim. 3U covers half of the 2U course.

Its true. All maths cover each other in prelim/hsc while the other subjects do similar modules in prelim.

eg. Space in yr 11, and space in yr 12 and astrophysics.

The results in preliminary assessments usually have no direct effect on HSC results, however the content of the HSC course is built on the preliminary course. That means the some contents of the preliminary course may be needed to do the HSC course. For example, in physics you may need to use a formula you have learnt in the preliminary course to do areas in the HSC course. The direct results from the preliminary course shouldn't affect the HSC course, but in terms of knowledge and understanding they may have an effect. However, I do believe that most schools would revise some areas of the preliminary course if it is needed for the HSC course.

hey guys basically the prelim stuff CAN NOT be counted in your HSC marks but your HSC assessment can have up to 20% of your prelim stuff in it, so if you have a maths test for HSC assessment 80% of the stuff you woulda learnt in year 12 and 20% could be from prelim
