Do we do anything in the first week that uni starts? (1 Viewer)

I was wondering whether the first week of uni is just a bludge? I know that o week is on but do u attend ur lectures, tutorials or so on during that first week? I'm not sure and a little confused abt what i'm suppose to do

you start your lectures straight up. you dont have tutes in the first week, for about 97% of subjects.
thing is most of the subjects' first lectures is an introduction into that subject.

if there are two or three lectures you should attend, they're usually the first (for unit outline, and other admin stuff which is important especially for first years) and last lectures (for potential hints and tips).

no tutorials, unless you do acst151 (or higher acst units)

o crap. i thought o week was a bludge! so i sent an email the lady in charge of the street team global leadership program that i could work Monday (1-4pm), Wednesday (1-4pm) and Thursday (1-4pm) at the booth! i think i'll call the uni up and ask them abt the details cos at the moment i'm clueless abt things going on during o week

my above post wasn't all that accurate, so long as you read the Unit Outlines for each unit (and carefully, preferably twice because that's all it is). most people are too lazy to even do that, and then eight weeks into the semester realise they haven't done half the assessments.

Going to a lecture here and there, and the odd first week-tutorial is hardly work. It's only work when u have to prepare for these classes (from the second week).

actually, you can go and try to get 2nd hand books from the ads that are stuck up on the walls, big round thing outside library, which is i assume some electrical thingo.

so if o week (starting 28 feb) is our first week of lectures (and limited tutes e.g acst 151), when do we join all the clubs and stuff and when do alll the bands come etc?

Tutes are on for some subjects though. Like nearly all LAW ones are on.

Tavaren Jive (sp?) is on before Evermore. That's Greg, the SAM barman's, band.
