just finished my half yearly and the results were a bit disappointing, my ranks are not bad at my school though but i go to a public school so obviously i need to do better or at least meet my expectations. ok the point is I made SILLY mistakes in 2 or 3 papers in my half yearly (oh god......) and i think the reasons it happened are because i didn't study enough and remember the contents well, so just want to ask that do you guys study every day/week for subjects you're doing and make notes for it?? new assessments are coming up and it's hard to make time for both things.......

i studied 2-3 weeks prior the exams and got a bit above average, and this is including alot of the stupid mistakes that i made. So i think that if i study every day and keep up with what im doing i can be the top student, seeing how the ones who study full out every day only got a bit higher than me...
So yeah, you should study alot, but if you feel like you are ontop of all your subjects (you should be confident with a test at that very moment) then its fine to take breaks

EDIT: about the notes, i actually dont even make notes, im scared that ill miss something.. A few days before the exam while im doing hsc questions i know what im strong and weak in, and then i make notes based off that, just the content i really am not remembering, but i feel like making notes and studying from them is a waste of time since most of the "Crap" in the text book actually helps you understand what you are studying

It is probably smart to do small bursts of study, such as reading over the notes you made in class on the day you wrote them.

But no I do not study every week/day

Nah not even. I was lazy as shit in my HSC year. Studied probably 1-2 days a week at most, and most of those times were used to just do homework rather than actually studying. I didn't write any notes except for Legal Studies which were incomplete anyway. Basically all you need to do is to pay attention in class and be able to follow where the class is at. If you're struggling, hit the internet up for whatever you're struggling on because there's limitless information on the internet. BoS resources alone are quite useful.

My advice would be to look into possible questions and prepare answers for them. The best way to learn is always to be thinking about how to answer questions and having information readily available to do so. If notes makes that easier for you then try and put some time away to write them. Otherwise, in the HSC you can pretty much get away with having a bank of 3-4 talking points ready and know everything you need to know on those. But things like silly mistakes can only really be dealt with by practising so have a look at past exams/questions to help you think about how your answers should be put together.

wow you study alot, usually i make notes during term break or weekend this year then get them out and study them 1-2 week before the exam, and some subjects i even go study them the day before (very confident at those but never going to do it again lol) i only came in top 10 for most of the subjects so i guess i need to study more lol want to be the top one :p:p
