i personally think that the questions given this year were more general (not requiring specific information) then previous years... usually theres some specific knowledge required in order to be a higher band student but i just dont see it this time around? (ie omg that question stumped me i had no idea on what the second stage of mitosis is!?"

im thinking its more of a test to see who can write more in 3 hours then who can be specific... i dont know though :/

whats your say?

Re: do you think the HSC questions this year have been more general then previous yea

No, I think it's really dependent upon the subject.
Modern History and Extension History have been about the same level of difficulty and specificity.
Advanced English; the questions were also similar but very geared towards personal interpretation of texts.
I don't think it's about how much one can write in three hours - it will always be about how well they answer the Q, and that can be done well in 8 pages or 20.

i noticed in physics they've tended further away from calculations and moar essays

i guess they realised everything in the syllabus is do-able by a year 9 student and the only way they can make it hard is by turning the questions into english tasks

let me pose this question to you 'SH33P', how intelligent is a piece of string?

Message me on the day the results come out and show me some cocky results, because not only am I getting a vibe of a fu-ck witt, let alone a geek trying to get an opinion that unfortunately you will never be able to socialise in real time over, so you outsource to the internet.

I've seen people year in year out, "oh thos exams were too easy", well you know what mate when u get those results, you will get a facebomb and a realism check, which hopefully will make your balls drop, fu-ck me you people continue to make me cringe, but let me leave you with the usual catch, how you react determines how real and infectious my point inflicts you, fu-cken derro's.

endless brothers and sisters love.

Does that answer penetrate into your thick skull, fu-ck me, seems like a common problem now-a-days, common sense verse book-smart. My dad is the CEO of a ASX Top 200 company, and he tells me day in day out, the HSC is a detrminant of how hard you can memorise, not what you can achieve and do under pressure situations, so looks like my dad would never hire people with your intelligence may-cat, lol wtf is may-cat fuc-ken freak.

may-cat what ever that may be i think this 2700wrms is as a very valid point you so called "smart people" are the idiots like the asian how was studying at sydney uni but decides it will be "smart" to jump 25 metres to her death. it is acts like this that keep smart people in check as it is one thing to have book smarts and another to have common sense a mix of both is not found by many people on these forums.

i agree, but i think general is a bad thing, i knew my content really well and did not get tested on it... instead i had to face all these 6-10 mark questions that i had no idea on to what extent i had to elaborate
