im looking at the anu one right now btwi wanted to do history but i think id find it wildly unfulfilling in the long term
its such a shame because i GUESS i could do teaching but like... do u rlly want to be a teacher in this day and ageif u do a double in history/education u might be able to get a more specialised teaching job- better chance of a rich private school letting u only teach history and u can do side quests/research on the side
i like ur optimism tho maybe i can do a history degreeif u do a double in history/education u might be able to get a more specialised teaching job- better chance of a rich private school letting u only teach history and u can do side quests/research on the side- and that ways there also a more fulfilling aspect of it bc you're actually helping people and not just analysing the past for your entire life
imagine how much time u would have to actually do your own research though- teachers get crazy holidays, cheap degree and we have a teacher shortage rn so good pay- if u have a good uni chances are you can make some good connections and get involved with cool projects on the side- maybe even stuff overseas and travel- teaching is a pretty stable job asw while history is a bit scattered unless u do boring conservation shitits such a shame because i GUESS i could do teaching but like... do u rlly want to be a teacher in this day and age
ummm yeah do that. all the history teachers at my school were legends@HazzRat
what are your thoughts on what we've been talking about?
@lunaaaa4403 were you thinking a b-arts(history) combined with an education degree?
i heard extremely rich schools like kings and abbotsleigh tend to pay their teacher (who have a phd) $200k+better chance of a rich private school letting u only teach history
ISTG THATS LOTERALLY WHAT I TELL EVERYONE N THEY ALL SAY ‘No, thats so stupid’imagine how much time u would have to actually do your own research though- teachers get crazy holidays, cheap degree and we have a teacher shortage rn so good pay- if u have a good uni chances are you can make some good connections and get involved with cool projects on the side- maybe even stuff overseas and travel- teaching is a pretty stable job asw while history is a bit scattered unless u do boring conservation shit
its tough im just not sure that i could handle working with kidsummm yeah do that. all the history teachers at my school were legends
Screw teaching then, go to a shit school where no one wants to learn and sit on ur phone but give some worksheets as evidence (thats what all my teachers at my old school did and they still got paid + they cant get fired bc ‘they’re doing something’)its tough im just not sure that i could handle working with kids

in a catholic school u might have to teach 7-10 religion toobut you might still have to teach geo, not 100% sure how they organise it in private but year 7-10 have to do both geo and history anyway (idk how it works, especially at non-gov, but is something you might want to consider)
... yeah mmm definitely sounds like something im into mmmmin a catholic school u might have to teach 7-10 religion too![]()
thats because these broke ass public schools want the same 3 teachers to teach a whole grade of 8 subjects. thats why I'm saying get ins at a private school that has entire professors for each subjectbut you might still have to teach geo, not 100% sure how they organise it in private but year 7-10 have to do both geo and history anyway (idk how it works, especially at non-gov, but is something you might want to consider)
