on another related topic, our school announced that we do get progress rankings after the preliminaries, in our reports.. but this is not related

yea, i think most schools give out "end of year 11" reports and rankings, but everything starts anew in term 4.

if you'd quoted my whole post you might have seen my point-
everyone kept sayin "i think its like this" then someone else would say "yeh i thought that too" so i typed a list of guidelines that are correct, thus erasing the need for everyone to keep questioning the fact
Eg: onigirl has just posted sayin she thinks.... if she'd read my post she would have seen that she was correct, thus erasing the need for her to ask the question and wonder herself... (i'm not picking on you onigirl,i'm just using you as an example
