when i downloaded it, it said it was everclear but it didnt sound heaps like them

There's a shiteload of versions although the original version is by "Deep Blue Something", but a lot of bands do covers of it, and everclear did do a cover of it. Others who have covered it include Matchbox20, Gin Blossoms, REM, Barenaked Ladies, Rockapella, Oasis, and Virginia Gentlemen.... so theres a lot of possiblities.
