Does anyone dry-clean some of their clothes? (1 Viewer)

Story goes, I have a couple of silk tops with beautiful embroidery/detailing on them... including metal swirl thingos and diamantes! (tastefully done I assure you )

I know that some people will hand-wash delicates, however I can't do that with these tops as the metal will rust. Additionally I've got a few other supposed "dry clean only" garments, and in the interests of prolonging their wear life I guess having them dry cleaned/professionally pressed is better than roughing it out in the washing machine with the rest of the laundry?! lol

SO: Does anyone here have some of their clothes dry cleaned?

If you do, can you recommend any drycleaners? I've heard absolute horror stories about ones that have screwed garments up :S

i dont really have much that i need to get drycleaned, i've had my formal dresses and stuff done just at the local drycleaner (a male who wears vinyl or fishnet shirts.. dont know why i added that) and hes always done a good job. I doubt its anywhere near you though!

Dad takes all of his suits there too which are worth a fucking fortune and nothing dodgy has happened so far

i get my work blazer/pants etc dry cleaned, and they have been fine. Just go to the local one in Cronulla, but i'm sure they are mostly the same

Either wash your things one at a time on "permanent press" mode or just take them to a dry cleaner. I've ruined a few nice jumpers by just throwing them in with regular washing, so I tend to make sure they're done properly.

Dry cleaning can get way expensive though. Coats/jackets cost a fortune. I've started to hang stuff up outside on clear days to air them out rather than wash them a million times.

I dry-clean some my clothes at the local dry cleaner and it's not that expensive. Just make sure you don't wear them as often, lessening the need and cost of getting your clothes dry-cleaned.

I get my suits and business shirts done at the local. Most dry cleaners have a deal for for 4 or 5 shirts, so wait till you have the required number.

In terms of damage, I've had small holes in my suit pants after a dry clean, but they were notoriously thin trousers, and they've been fine with my other suit.
