Nah. Emma sucked no matter how deeply I got into it. :)
lol - fair enough. My teachers picked pretty decent books for us to read so that probably helps....

Studying a book or a film for me in school meant automatically hating it.

I think if you love a book, you come to hate it even more if you study it - Im glad as hell Ive never had to study a J.D. Salinger piece. I love them too much.

I think that can occour with some material but not all. For me the majority of the time i begin to enjoy the book/play/movie/poetry even more because i have a greater understanding of it.

I've never actually looked at any of J.D. Salinger peices although i do want to after the HSC. He is rather interesting...

My favourite things are his short stories (then again he hasnt really published anything that couldnt be considered a short story). I like "Zooey", "Teddy", "Seymour: An Introduction" and "A Perfect Day for Bananafish" the best.

I guess the reason I dont want to study them is because I know what they mean to me, and they mean a lot. Having what the collective academic community thinks about it droned into me would probably turn me off them.

I dont get how some ppl just cant read!?! I have a mate and she hates reading and wont read anything unless she HAS to.

Reading is my life, my bestest freinds are in books (i know that sounds totally lame but it's so true!)
