Does anyone work at Big W and know if the pay rises when you turn 17? Its my birthday in a week and I just wanted to know.

the pay rises every year until you turn 20 i think.. possibly 19... but yeh after that u need to become a supervisor or something to get higher pay
after the probation period of 3 months it goes up by about 50 cents

Yeah well i work in home ent which is pretty cool, you can do nothing basically all day and then do some recovery at the end of the day and they think you did heaps, i get to listen to whatever music i like all day too.

yeh.. I used to work in home ent but I'm a trainee so I get moved around. At the moment I'm in DM Home at the momnent, I dont mind it but Consumables is the worst in my opinion. And yes your pay does go up, from bout $8.90 to bout $9.87 or sumtin. N e ways, ur pay will keep goin up till ur 21 unless U get extra training (eg. Courtesy desk, Door greeter, checkout supervisor, red cap... or Trainee Management) then it goes up by heaps

When you hit 19 you get like $17, but than they put you on less e.t.c cause their tight, oh, and DONT sign contract, i made that mistake a few weeks ago

Yup... he went to get the ticket off the shelf and only got one of 3 tickets... for the least expensive box of course!!!!! We all wanted to kill him... my BM stood there in the aisle with him and told him wat she thought of him... then proceeded to tell a nosy customer to piss off unless buying something... thats how pissed off evryone was... we only found out cas we looked wen doin parcel pickup... me nd another workmate picked up on it

Our Big W were really slack - they once told me to front-face (bring forward and rotate stock) the paints and told me I'd need about half an hour to finish. I got it done in twelve minutes and when i asked them what next they told me I was too quick. So I showed them that I'd finished it (and finished it the right way) and they then told meSo I wasted almost an hour doing something I'd already done.

Yeah like who needs 3 hours to recover manchester, i got it done in like half an hour though our store is maybe smaller than others, they are so stoopid.

Yeah well i asked for 23 and 24th of december off so i could work in my mums shop(where i get $13/hour not $9) and they said no because it is the xmas period. Its fucking bullshit, i mean im casual, can they really do that?

With the Air Conditioner... Ours comes in two boxes, so some stores must be different, but like, thats courtesy desks fault (thats who i off load parcel pick ups onto) they should have been like, wait, three boxes for $300?!

Oh and before i leave, i fucken HATE recovery staff, all the little pricks do is go around and talk to eachother, like tonight im standing there and watching my toy recovery cockhead talk to his mates so im like, oi, do recovery in my area or fuck off home, and their like, you cant tell me what to do, so i went and 'informed' the night manager and he fucked him over

Yeah well i asked someone else at work and they said they can do it now because if you want holidays you have to take a whole week block off your not allowed to have singular days anymore, this girl from my store asked for a day of in april next year and they denied because you have to have a whole week or nothing.
