Do I need to make notes on preliminary outcomes(eg. P1.1, P1.2...)?
Or are they just for prelim exams?

For most subjects, the preliminary course is important since it is either assumed knowledge or it acts like a 'foundation' for HSC.

no need to make notes

yes the preliminary components sometimes skill related ones carry over into HSC, but usually not. Its more likely for the first assessment at school. Syllabus content for most courses does not depend on Preliminary content except where it is needed as a base understanding.
