I've done a few of those HSC papers now and so far none of the integration questions are NOT on question 1.....

Is there any paper where it's not question 1 or question 2?

Does it matter? :p

The older papers probably didn't have it in Q1.

Question 1 is almost always integration, but that's not to say a few more difficult integration questions don't find their way into the rest of the paper.

Oh yes, anything can come up in later questions. Typically:

1) integration
2) complex
3) graphs
4) conics and circle geo
I don't know the rest. Although I think you often find hard integration in question 7 or 8.

We had probabilty in our half yearly - it was an 11 mark part in a question and involved graphing the solution too. Apparently a past HSC question.
So don't cross it off your lists
:D

yeah q1 is always integration, but can come up in other parts as well, and integration also finds its way in2 other topics such as volumes and resisted motion...

just to be pedantic, q1 isnt ALWAYS integration: look at the 82,83, 89 and 90 papers

no, if u will read the title of this thread, it is mx2- referring to maths extention 2, which has only been a course since like 01? hence, every singe hsc has had q1 as integration
