no not really. Physics and chem arent mutually exclusive but off the top of my head, spectroscopy is covered in both but in very different ways. Phys you learn about how light produces spectra, chem its more about the information you get from it. dont feel obliged to pick both but check on each syllabus to see if it fits your interests.

apart from content as notme mentioned above, i think the most beneficial thing of doing these 2 subjects together is that the study techniques used is almost identical for the 2 subjects.

As said above, 2 sciences gives you the opportunity to use and master similar study techniques. But, you will need to learn two challenging courses at the same time, and it's likely you will have depth studies and tests about the same time which really adds pressure.

Basically, do both if you will really enjoy both as individual subjects.
