Hello, can anyone tell me the definition for the terms Doppler Effect, Red Shift and Blue Shift? Also, how are these terms related to rotational and translational velocity?

Thanks a lot

The Doppler Effect is an apparent change in the frequency of waves, as of sound or light, occuring when the source and the observer are in motion relative to each other, with frequency increasing when the source and observer approach each other and decreasing when they move apart.
