drawing in the exam???? (1 Viewer)

does anyone know if we will be asked to draw diagrams of stuff like glucose, fructose, sucrose and maltose (forensic chemistry) and others like cellulose and starch????

the only one im sure of is you need to know
how to draw + describe cellulose
(dont do forensic)

I asked that here.

I'm going to call HSC Advice Line this afternoon to confirm. But if you're comparing say glucose and fructose, or maltose and sucrose, it's easier to draw than to describe.

ok and do you know what the answer to this is, cos i have absolutely no idea, im so screwed for the option part of this exam.

identify the functional group in glycerol?

AND

compare the reactions of both glycerol and 1-propanol when they react with cold dilute KMnO4?

it depends

if you're quoting numbers i wouldnt do it
If i were a marker if i saw a table of numbers
(ie to compare oxygen and ozone)
I'd be thinking "they wrote-learned this..."
If you write it all out I think it shows that you know what you're talking
about instead of a few numbers

But for say something like ethanol advantages and disadvantages
were most of it is written, i'd say a table is fine

i've done it before for the ethanol as a fuel stuff and it was fine, saves writing blah blah does this but 2nd blah blah does that, its not breaking any rules or anything and you would know if it wasn't allowed so i'd do it.
