N/A
e.g combustion of octane:

Complete: C8H18(aq) + (25/2)O2(g) -> 8CO2(g) + 9H2O(l)

Incomplete (producing carbon monoxide and water): C8H18(aq) + (17/2)O2(g) -> 8CO(g) + 9H2O(l)

Incomplete (producing soot [carbon] and water): C8H18(aq) + (9/2)O2(g) -> 8C(s) + 9H2O(l)

Complete combustion
C8H18+O2-->H2O+CO2
Incomplete combustion
C8H18+O2--> H2O+C

Balance them out and those are the equations

Complete combustion results in water and Carbon dioxide:
simplistic example:

CH4 + O2 = CO2 + 2H20

Incomplete also gives you carbon monoxide and soot (carbon) etc..

C5H12 + 502 = 4CO + 6H2O + C

Hope this helps somehow... just off the top of my head. Good luck
