I've just installed a DVD burner into my desktop and set it as the master. But nero 5.5 wont recognise it as a burner, even though it does for my friend. Windows media player burner wont recognise it either. Anyone got clues as to why?

maybe u didnt set it right and just think u did. check again. maybe u connected the cables the wrong way

Does it even come up in My Computer as a drive? You might need to install the drivers from the included CD or something? I remember when I installed DVD burners in both my PCs- the instructions were install drivers first, hook up drive later.
