Someone suggested that I could apply for EAS regarding mental illness and I was surprised that was an option but anyway I searched it up and apparently applications have closed?
My school is considered disadvantaged but they never sent home a form to fill in or anything- would the school have filled it out automatically for the students?
Would that mean that I have a form submitted and can add mental illness to it?

Regarding the use of mental illness as a disadvantage, do I need a medical certificate from my GP or psychiatrist/ psychologist? School counsellors aren't included? What if I haven't seen an actual doctor yet but I have seen counsellors years prior?

Yeah I think if your school is disadvantaged they automatically send in your application. With regards to your mental illness I think either your psychiatrist or psychologist will be fine. Just not GP because not everybody sees a specialist and you would need to prove your case is legit (chronic - lasting 6 months or over) with documentation from your specialist about it. Your school needs to also fill in a section about how it has affected you under what you write about it yourself and you would need to get your absences from school too. Not sure if you can still send in an application for the other offers though but good luck.

I also have a mental illness and applied for eas the best way to get your application through is to get a letter from as many people as you can, i got a letter from 3 physiologists, 2 gp's and a physiatrist then you pick and chose the best ;)
