A drinking glass has the shape of a truncated cone. If the internal radii of the base and the top are 3cm and 4cm repsectively and the depth is 10cm, find by integratioon, its capacity. If the glass is filled with water to a depth of 5cm, find the volume of the water.

A line through (3,0) and (4,10) is rotated around the y-axis between y=0 and y=5

for capacity the integral is:

V=∏∫(3+y/10)²dy with the upper bound being 10 and lower bound being 0

edit: then when you work it out the answer is 123.3333333333333∏

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

then if you fill it with water it's the same integral with the bounds being 5 and 0 upper and lower respectively
