easy polynomials question (1 Viewer)

despite the title, i am havin trouble wit this one, done it b4, just cant remember how u get it out, quite a common question.....

Q: If a polynomial is divided by (x-1) the remainder is 5 and when divided by (x-2) the remainder is 7. What is the remainder when it is divided by (x-1)(x-2) ?






and please dont give me a 'by inspection' answer, need 2 know how 2 do it, half yearly tomoz peoples......

I like Patel a lot. His exercises are medium to hard, he explains things very well, and he shows you some tricks I haven't seen in other textbooks.

lol hey man im NOT wrong, its been in about 5ish of our school 3U half-yearly and assessment papers.

We havent done Poly in 3U. We are extremely behind there.
