what factors may affect the level of governement revenue in 2007/08?
Governemnt revenue includes:
- Total individuals and other withholding tax: $119 560 m
- Companies tax: $64 580 m
- Total indirect tax: $28 920 m
- Non-taxation revenue: $15 691 m
- Super Tax: $8300 m
- Other taxes: $3629 m

what factors may/ have affect the level and areas of governemnt expenditure?
areas are:
- Social security and welfare: $96 450 m
- Health: $42 964 m
- Other spending: $42 776 m
- Defence: $19 880 m
- Education: $17 752 m
- General public services: $15 768 m

Any help would be greatly appreciated !!!

well if the governments mess with the tax brackets next year, which i am pretty sure they are doing for 07/08, that will affect revenue, which usually means they get more money. check out the ato site better info on that

Factors that would effect their revenue would be things like economic activity (if economy is performing well they get more company tax and other tax) and unemployment (if u/e low, they get more income tax). There's probably more but I can't think of any.

The main factor effecting their expenditure is public opinion, because the 07/08 budget is an election budget. Their main areas of spending this year are ...
families (with childcare subsidies etc)
education (universities removing caps on full-fee paying students, higher education endowment fund, summer schools to further train teachers etc.)
seniors (utilites payment of $500 and changes to supperannuation)
tax-cuts.
families, education, seniors and tax-cuts are all areas which the population will appreciate, and in the government's eyes might cause them to re-ellect the liberal government.
