Hey,

Is anyone planning to go to the edassist focus on HSC lectures?

Has anyone been to them before or know anyone who has? Are they any good?

Im considering going, because i go to a non selective public school with really bad sceince teachers, so a this sounds like something that would benifit me. Im just not sure if it is worth it. Its only $25 bucks per subject, so money isnt the issue, its more time and effort.

i went to the summer school lectures...hmm they were helpful to an extent. biology was useful...however some subjects seemed to be just looking at the syllabus and giving us useless information we already knew like english...but if ur interested then u should go..:)

I went to these for maths (general), english (king lear) and ext english and i found that they were really useful it is worth the money as long as u listen and take notes...also i bought the books for chemistry and found this useful as well so i paid $12 i think for the books and went through it myself

Don't bother wasting money on the HSC.

on the contrary, you cannot put a price on education!
haha..
coincidently,
edassist sent me out info on antoher holiday course...
and the aboveish person was right- whole lot of time on syllabus and key words etc...
dont bother for amths [i found that everyone was up to different levels that we couldnt properly address anyof the topcis and for the topics i was yet to do, it made me even more confused..]
perhaps later in the year when we're all on par i might revisit.

The modern history lectures were really really good last year. Worth all the effort to get there and the teacher had the best history jokes.

lmao. yeah we did the last topics of some of the lectures i attended. and i was so confused seriously. dont they realise u need prerequisite knowledge from other topics in order to fully understand the last few topics. english was mediocre i think.

by any chance did u do these lectures at syd uni these last holidays? u might have been in my lectures :D

Enjoy the lectures?
the whole 20 hrs i spent of my holidays ?
haha...
yes i did actually.
Particularly history lecture...
the rest were quite banal in my opinion...
I particularly liked meeting all the other year 12's
^.^ <--- [my 'asiany' emoticon..]
hahha.
how about u?
i probably wouldnt go again, or at least not until later in the year...
SOme kids are doing those intensive 9 week programs for chem etc..

yeah i did. it got me motivated. all the over achievers of year 12 all in one lecture room...willing to learn, even though some came to socialise. Yeah i wouldnt go again, once is enough for me. some of the yr 12s there didnt talk much they went and sat in the corner and ate their lunch submissively (trying to evoke empathy here even though its not happening lol)
yeahh thats about it

nichhhole said:
