Facts:

1. There are 5 houses (along the street) in 5 different colors:
blue, green, red, white and yellow.
2. In each house lives a person of a different nationality:
Brit, Dane, German, Norwegian and Swede.
3. These 5 owners drink a certain beverage:
beer, coffee, milk, tea and water, smoke a certain brand of cigar:
Blue Master, Dunhill, Pall Mall, Prince and blend, and keep a certain pet:
cat, bird, dog, fish and horse.
4. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar, or drink the same beverage.

Einstein's List of Clues
1. The Brit lives in a Red house.
2. The Swede keeps Dogs as pets.
3. The Dane drinks Tea.
4. The Green house is on the left of the White house.
5. The Green house owner drinks Coffee.
6. The owner who smokes Pall Mall rears Birds.
7. The owner of the Yellow house smokes Dunhill.
8. The owner living in the center house drinks Milk.
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
10. The owner who smokes Blend lives next to the one who keeps Cats.
11. The owner who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
12. The owner who smokes Bluemaster drinks Beer.
13. The German smokes Prince.
14. The Norwegian lives next to the Blue house.
15. The owner who smokes Blend has a neighbor who drinks Water.

So. WHO KEEPS THE FISH ?

Good luck, time yourself and post here!!
Only 2% of the population can do this, so see if you're a smart cookie or a numbnut.

It's easy, you just draw a grid and fill in the info. The German keeps the fish.

This question is very similar to the ones in UMAT Section 1.

I'm interested to know how others did it, my approach:

4. The Green house is on the left of the White house.
5. The Green house owner drinks Coffee.
8. The owner living in the center house drinks Milk
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
14. The Norwegian lives next to the Blue house.
There's only one possible arrangement for this, from here on I just did guess and check.

It's actually a breeze if you know how to solve these sorts of "logic"" puzzles. It's really just a mater of tediously going through the variables and crossing them off.

And as for the whole "Einstein created this and said on 2% of the world can do it", it's pretty much bullshit. The first known copy is from some magazine in the '60's.

And if anyone wants to know how to solve it wikipedia has got your arse covered.

Einstein once said there is only one genius left in this world, who can tell whether you are one or not.

Guess and check wasn't needed. Each step lead onto another(like the suduko puzzles that don't require trial and error)

Only 2% of the population can solve this mentally. It's too easy with pen and paper.

It is very unlikely that even 0.01% of the population can solve this mentally.

I used to do this sort of thing for fun..just draw a grid box and work from there, you're laughing
