i'll get it once i have the rest of his albums

this release is a good kick in the arse for me to start getting them too
anyone else recommend XO first? 'cos that's where i'm headed

I would actually recommend getting Either/Or before XO, but it doesn't really matter, they are both just as awesome:).

Did anyone catch the J-Files last night on JJJ? It was one on Elliot Smith.... probably still available on the net. Very nice.

i missed those! a friend told me about them afterwards

yeah, it was one year since his death on wednesday :(

Yeah. So cloudy, the stuff surrounding his death... they went into it a bit on the J-File. Hopefully it is still up on the net. They're always good.

i heard that j-files thing. i was heaps impressed. i might have to check out elliot smith's new album. hadn't heard much about him before!

In looking for the J-File, I also discovered that they did one on him back in 2001 as well. Click here for that one. The one that was on yesterday should be on there tomorrow according to the site, here.

yeah and apparently he played the annadale hotel sometime ago. makes me sad to think i'll never see him live :(

Yeah :(. I think they (On JJJ) said that Claire Bowditch is playing at/leading a tribute to him somewhere, but I forget where and when...

nah, i wouldn't go for either/or first. it might put someone who's more into "rockier" music off, because it has mostly just him on guitar, which is beautiful in a different way. "between the bars" is amazing though.

True, so I guess it depends what kind of music you are into. Between the Bars is one of my favourite Elliott Smith songs:).
