"Emma and Clueless are set in entirely different contexts. Jane Austen's world is genteel, early 19th century England, while Amy Heckerlings film is set in contemporary Beverley Hills. How is the society of Beverley Hills a useful one for displaying the kind of social restrictions that appear in Emma?"

Any suggestions of where to take that guys? :confused:

um... you pick about 4 themes or so and discuss how the context has manipulated these themes (i.e. sims + diffs) through the use of novelistic/linguistic techniques vs film techniques. It's just like every other essay, you must synthesis character, setting, scene parallels in order to answer the question with enough supported evidence.
