'Emo' Creative Stories? Are they good to do or not? Or would it be repetitive and put markers off?

Depends...

If there's some 'emotion' in the piece, because said emotion has something to do with, say, an inner journey the character is undertaking, then it won't hurt.

If the story consists of "the journey of a guy whose girlfriend left him so he decided to dress in black and sit in his room crying and listening to dashboard confessional", then that's probably a bad thing.

could i approprait Rime of the Ancient mariner ? .. that would be an awsome imaginative journey ..
"dickhead pirate rapes random wedding singer and explaines his story of how he fought the loch ness monster in Antartica" ... that would be brilliant.. minus all the swearing

I like it... it could be so good that they adopt it into the English syllabus next year as one of the "Transformations" set texts!

in the trials i got 14/15 for a very short story ( 1 1/2 pages), and it was rather 'emo.' it just depends on how well your style suits the storyline, your techniques and all that jazz i suppose.

if only i could be as good at analytical essays :(

In fact, while we're at it, let's be honest:

The markers are like... 50-ish, right. So they all have about 30 years more life experience than us.

So any attempt we make at being 'deep and meaningful' is going to come across like... Well you know the slightly embarassing feeling you get when you read something that you wrote when you were 12 that you thought was heaps 'deep' back then. Just like that.

what the heck is 'emo'?
my friends use and their explanations suck it of goes like this: ' it is like gothic but different' whatthe hell is that?

so a FFX story could be good but surely it wouldnt be imaginative because Final Fanatasy seems to rely on physical journeys to strangthen their characters

unless... you focus on the imagination required to convert a physical journey into an imaginativ one

(sorry this was a 'non serious attemt' to help you i just wanted to know what emo meant and since you havent posted your stories o cant give you specific help)

i have left my creative writing too late and so im just going to use my piece from the trials that i got 19 out of 20 for, i hope they dont mark harder in the HSC
i thought it sucked (it was about some girl who is a bitch and then she becomes less of a bitch due to contact with some native african and she imagines herself there and becomes nice - the end) but my head of english liked it and gave me good marks so they seem to like soppy crap

no, thats scene. the girl pants, hair-over-eyes, etc is scene fashion.

emo is just a music genre. short for emotionally charged hardcore punk, it died about 10-15 years ago. now, any band with self-pitying lyrics or a whiny vocalist is labelled emo but its wrong.

no, this is the punk movement, badges and black shirts are cool, dont diss it :D

emo is just short for emotional, but bands such as the ones mentioned above, chose 2 wear make up 2 cover their inside and sing bitchy girly songs about missing loved ones without actually having meaning, so they sing emo music....
