from today, the following groups of full time university, TAFE and private college students will now become eligible for transport concessions:

Those who are employed or otherwise receiving an income;
Those who are enrolled in evening classes;
Those undertaking postgraduate research at universities.

Whilst most ignored the employment restriction, you are no longer flouting the law.

Masters and PhD students are now also eligible

"we need a common sense approach"
"impact on revenue from today’s announcement will be minimal"
Well obviously by minimal they mean none, because they realised everybody else was already using their common sense, which was notably absent from the people who originally penned those concession conditions.

non-fulltime students don't get a concession circle/sticker on their ID

And if you're working it was against the law, but they wouldn't know unless you were in work uniform or something.

Most bus drivers here check to see if you have the concession sticker on your student ID if your using concession tickets.

I had to stop using them because the drivers here were really strict about it (LOL i was going to work anyway) and there were always inspectors on the bus checking too :/

At least now i'll be able to get the sticker on my card at uni. I didn't really think it was fair that evening students couldn't be considered full time. It's just as much time and work at uni as any day time student.
