So basicall my prelim essay is going to be on power, and i have narrowed it down to 3 q's.

1.How the text influence our understanding of power?

2.How the texts show power? talk about techniques etc.

3.Why they show power?

I'm having trouble with the first and third question like how to answer it.
PLEASE HELP!!

3 is asking you the purpose of what the text is for, if it's for example:
*racial problems*enviromental problems*societies judgement (e.g. what people think of gays, or how how teens act towards adults etc.)*males verse females*blacks verse whites*peer presure*drugs*etc. just all things like that. Using these type of things your asking yourself how the text brings out these subject/s and for what reason they want us evalute the situation taken in it. You also have to think about how this text effects you and the effect of the many other people seeing it ( in other words write your deep understanding of the text)^^

1. There are many different types of power e.g. love, remorse, revenge, muliputative, gender, race(e.g. asian, aboriginal, scottish, american, australian etc.) , status ( e.g. how much money you make, or if you are popular or not etc.) and stuff like the power of speech etc... it's asking us how we understand that certain power in the text...
