I appreciate everyone's concern. Yes Shane, even yours. (Deny that you don't care all that you want, I still appreciate your input).

I am competent. I have reason and logic. Contrary to some bosers belief. But if you met me, or were in my shoes, I'm sure you'd do the same thing. Thanks evry1.
doesnt seem very evident to me

So what if she wants to marry him? It's her choice in the end, I mean she's probably mature enough to decide for herself. Besides, she's giving it more than two years before actually getting married isn't she? Surely that's more than enough time?

You can't ridicule her for wanting to get married because of her BPD and depression, I mean he'd be giving her the support she needs which is reason enough to get married. I suppose you just have to believe that she's doing the right thing, instead of instantly criticising her.
Nobody is criticising her because she is engaged with whatever issues she is currently working through.

ANY 17 year old who is engaged to the person they had been seeing for 5 months, any 17 year old period, would get the exact same response, and rightly so.

If (and I stress if, because I would bet my left nut that they are just drunk on teenage 'love', at best) they are truely mature enough and experienced enough to know that they want to make such a commitment to one another, waiting until they are older to go through with it wouldn't matter in the end.

Sorry to pop your bubble but my fiance is in his mid-twenties. He's had his fair share of crap to deal with, and so have I. I have more older friends than I do people my age. I have no younger friends. Simply because I prefer hanging around with mature people, and I get along with them better.

if i wanted a diamond ring i would want a lab-created diamond. art deco or antique style. no boring solitaires or princess cut shit. SNORE.

but really i would want coloured gemstones. probably ruby or emerald.

an actual art deco or antique ring would be the best.

agree. I have my mothers engagement ring in a safe deposit box, white gold with 5 saphires and 3 diamonds, middle one is 0.75 ct IIRC, one day it will make some girl very happy.
