I was reading through the outline of this uos and it seems kinda pointless if u have allready chosen ur stream (civil, mechanical...), it does make sense for flexible first year though

So is it a core unit of study?? im doin civil engineering/commerce and looking at myuni i am enrolled in ENG1800, should I be? Can I do ENGG1801 instead??

Just note that the two subjects are quite dissimilar.

And I believe it is part of the civil course, plus it should be good if you didn't do engineering studies in the HSC.

ENGG1800 is Introduction to Engineering I believe, if this is the case then it is compulsory.
ENGG1801 is Engineering Computing, also compulsory.

Two completely different subjects.
