If you're unsure about what you actually want to do, then you won't find your answer here. Sure there are alot of uni students here and we can tell you what the degree is like, but we can only tell you on a superficial level what x engineer actually does, unless the people posting here have had their internships. You're best off researching yourself, googling certain companies or youtube videos talking about the day of a life of x engineer, I rekon that would be more helpful.

There are heaps of different engineering streams, go on the UAC guide for UNSW and you'll see well over 10 different engineering streams UNSW offers. And pick an engineering stream you actually like, then worry about the employability and salary.
