Can someone please tell me how to write a great essay on appropriation? Like what do you write in an essay when discussing two texts? Is it just similarities and differences in the portrayals of themes and values and how their contextual differences affect how they are depicted? Do we need to talk about the values of the time the two texts are created?

What are the two texts?
It's generally a good idea to refer to the contexts of each text, including the style in which they're made and then go into themes.
Also, if you want to write a more sophisticated essay, try and keep it flowing and assess similarities and differences based on themes or specific points, and keep referring and comparing/contrasting to each other, instead of writing a paragraph about one and then just talking about the other after.
