I am noticing a clear correlation between English EXT 2 and Visual Arts. New forms of media allowed for your major work: i.e. websites/pictures/videos etc..

I think it would be highly hard to mark a superb video with complex ideas as opposed to a comparitively superb critical essay on whatever the topic/idea may be.

Yeah I see what you are saying. I do webpages for my representation tasks for advanced english and it is more "artistic" than english-ey

But, I don't think it's anything to stress about. No matter what medium you have picked, if you do well you will get a good mark. I don't think they really mark comparatively across all the mediums, I think it's just based on the "outcomes"

I am saying that the markers may be discretionary in their marking. If the marker finds that websites/videos are not their thing, then you might not ascertain the same marks that another person may have received for something else.

btw, what exactly is it that you have to create - what choices do you have?

nah dude...

markers only sign up to mark in their speciality...ie: if da marker have never touched a computer in her/his life then obvsiouli the marker would not be marking the website section....the pplz who sign up for their areas are markers with depth knowledge and an appreciation for whatz good or bad... having said that...it doesnt mean that a comp programmer will mark the website section, it just means someone who kows a fair bit abt comps and websites will be makrign the section

pluz if you look at the ones that goot godo marks..its more on the content....on the CD-rom..for the website section....there were two that goot full marks...one is on the haiku and the second is on screenplay/movies..(somehting along that line) and for both of them.....in terms of the presentation..i wont say it is absolutely ghetto fabulous....but the content is really good..

obviousli with the visual mediums..the creative side is taken into consideration...but it will never be lyk 50; 50..ie: half of the marks from the presentation side half of it from the content side..content will always be more important than presentation.....

i should practice wot i preach and get a move on with my writing instead of fixing up my webpages....lol

Yeah a marker will only mark one medium--you won't have markers marking say a combination of short stories, essays and websites......they will only mark one thing and are well trained on what to look for.

and you need to remember that the pieces are marked twice and in some cases three times so its not like if a marker has it in for you (your piece) their mark will be final
