One question.

You know how Getting band 6 in standard requires being like top in the state, and getting band 6 in advance is alot easier.

What are the reasons for this?

Is it because everyone who does standard is just plain really bad?

I think selective schools don't offer Standard English either so the average performance of those in standard would differ a lot to the average performance of those in Advanced.

I should of done Advance.

However at my school we have 10 people who are beast at english. So i wouldn't get top 10 in advance, but i am coming 2nd in standard (lost first place by 1/10 of a mark)

If your marks are consistently high then they may allow you to move up to Advanced English but you would probably have to talk to head of English about it first.

But i am wondering if there is much point.

I am always top few in Standard, but if i did Advance i would be in like the 20-30's, maybe even 40's

So what would be best?
What's your school rank? If it's top 100 the standard of work expected could be quite high in comparison with other schools. If you're happy with doing standard and you're willing to make an effort to be the top then you may as well stick with it.

I guess you may be better off sticking with Standard then. You seem quite consistent as you're ranked 2nd. Just keep nagging your teacher for feedback on your work.

hahaha our teacher nags us to give her work.

I thought so, i reackon i will get a better ATAR with a really good rank for standard than a low rank in advance

That's good then! That's how you improve in English. It also helps if your English teacher has experience in marking as they can share what markers look for & what they give top or low marks for.

You just might need to spend more time with English compared to other subjects due to the aligning but I'm sure you'll still manage to get a great ATAR.

If you want to do advanced though, go for it. If you are good enough to get 2nd in standard, and good enough for a band 6, what's to say that you won't do well in advanced? No matter what this regards, whether this has to do with your subjects or anything outside of school, don't undermine your abilities. There's always room and time for improvement if you make the mindset. But if you're sure about standard, no worries. :D

Good luck with your studies.
