an article - fold page in half, draw boxes and write what the pic would look like, have a catchy heading n subheading, short paras, check if its feature (usually is) - more opinionated and less formal

report- check who its to for how formal to be. use headings to structure it. similiar to essay but with headings to introduce each para. argue strongly for one side.

DONT FALL INTO ESSAY MODE!!

hope it helps, good luck

Are you serious? They want writing techniques
not the presentation of a feature article

by your logic, since most newspapers are printed
you need to type your response aswell?

I Found What U Want :d

this is what u should use in your "Extended response" its not an essay...

Newspaper Reports
- Punny headline
- Objective/matter-of-fact tone
- Quotes from authority figures
- Use of images

Feature Articles
- Punny headline
- Subjective/personable tone
- Varied sentence lengths
- Quote or image enlarged and placed in the middle of the article
- Exaggeration/hyperbole (or minimisation)
- Humour/wit

Others
- Diction
o Formal/Informal
o Neutral/Emotive
o Literal/Figurative
- Voice (Imperative, cynical, satirical, etc.)

hope that helped :)
