seriously can someone tell me whats wrong with uts IT? this crashing always happens everytime something is on, like reenrollment and results, etc. how come they havent fixed it yet? i hope i dont sound like im whinging but come on, this is happened plenty of times in the past why dont they rectify it?

i dont know why everyone rushes on the first day....there are plenty of spaces and u have a month to enrol

seriously can someone tell me whats wrong with UTS IT? This crashing always happens every time something is on, like re enrollment and results, etc. How come they haven't fixed it yet? I hope I don't sound like I'm whinging but come on, this is happened plenty of times in the past why don't they rectify it?

Their (ITD) reasons are mostly:
1) It's not a technical 'problem' per se... they know how to fix it; and
2) It will cost too much money to buy/rent new servers for the few occasions a year that it will be needed.

The system was obviously designed to handle only X amount of students at a time, which is fine for most of the year. I would propose that they either suck it up and rent out servers just for this one month, or have a lottery system where each student is assigned a random day of the month to enrol, to the tune of X students per day. Of course they won't, but it would be nice nonetheless.

Is UTS still using the preference model (ie you number the class in order of preference) or do we just pick the class we want?

The problem I am facing is having 3 subjects that only have 1 class throughou the year (Sports Law, IP Law and Industrial and Labour Law), so I hope I can just get in there and be certain I can do those subjects.

Anyone know when it will become available again?

In some classes you are asked to place preferences of which timeslot you wish to take (i.e. numbering the tutorials from 1 to 6).

It is a first-come first-serve basis, so if you enrol late, you will be left with times which you may not like.

There are three possibilities why your request could not be processed:

1.There has been a period of inactivity. You will be automatically timed out of the system if it has been inactive for 10 minutes or longer. You will need to re-log into the system using your student ID and UTS Webmail password.
2.The system is currently not available for user access. The system is taken offline every Sunday from 2pm until 7am the following Monday for maintenance reasons. Please do not attempt to access the system during these hours.
3.The server is currently busy and is unable to process any more request. Please retry again in 15 mins.

I had to swap Ethics (online) and Admin Law to Semester 1 to accomodate a manageable timetable for Semester 2.

Otherwise I would have had 5 days of nearly 2 hours a day.
