There were multiple copies of the students data (since it was storing on paper too) and I put the students details updated automatically (since there was a link between the database and the process and there was no manual operation though im not 100% sure)

We were literally having a chat with the invigorators, because they wanted to make sure everything was ready 40 minutes before it started, we were just sitting there trying not to laugh at the awkward silence. The meme question caught me off guard, and I don't think I did the system flowchart correctly. Apart from that, I think I did better than the other students in my class, because they struggled with the SQL and some of the other questions. I hope they do good, though.

Overall, I think it was a good exam, especially for a first-time subject. I expected some issues with the technology, but it was all fine.

My SQL wasn't working, and I asked a few people; some worked while others didn't.

yeah... its rough out there
Oh wow how how did you go? I would've suspected they would adjust it's scaling if it turned out to be THAT hard... and also since it is a first year course...

I didn't find the exam difficult at all.

managed to get the b6 and I agree the exam was not too difficult, but the marking feels quite subjective in the way that it would reward yap

il try see if each school gets raw marks cos thatd be interesting to see scaling

OH wow, I did it through distance ED so I don't really know how the others did in my class but I got 95 HSC mark and 8th in state. I agree that the questions were definitely subjective but since I did software too I feel like those questions were 1 million times more subjective since I though that was my strongest subject, and I only got 90 hsc there. Sounds like if that little people got b6 then they messed something up with the scaling but idk. Well done though.

interesting- it's very strange for 95 to be a sr in any subject, congrats nonetheless!

did that come from a rank 1 (95 exam 95 assessment = 95 hsc) or a higher + lower/vice versa?

software and ec are lowk uncharted waters. we don't know how they mark and at this point we have no reason to care anymore but its weird for sure how much variation there is between high achievers. id suspect just an unlucky marker for a few questions as that could bring ur overall exam mark down significantly esp. in the latter half of questions

Thanks! Yeah I was rank 1 so both hsc and assessment were 95, that unlucky marker is what I tell myself for software lmao because I hope I'm not that bad at it to only get 90 but there were lots of extended response and barely and programming. Both these subjects, the extended responses were just endless, you never know what they really want.

With 95 being sr maybe that just shows further how bad they structured this course is and how bad they scaled it.

i know i had so many problems with the assessments asking us stuff outside the scope of the course and stuff we didn't learn like in that project, how are we supposed to make a full stack application with excel and sql etc. It probably didn't help doing it through distance ED since my teachers also had no idea what they were doing.

ohh ic. damn i also got 95 external but internal put me down to hsc mark of 93. oh well it is what it is

i wouldve thought at least with these subjects they could test more skills rather than ext reponses, hopefully sql & excel could be used in more than just one question next year. its not that difficult to learn and should at least be tested more than it was.

my teacher also didn't really know how to teach this course at first so it was all a bit confused through y11 and 12 xD

NESA should do something about these unprofessional teachers. They are literally being paid to do there job teaching, which they can not simply do. This appears to be a major issue with Enterprise Computing in particular.

Also more should be done about the standards which teachers set for assessments definitely.
I 100% agree, also since our distance ed teachers were so bad they couldn't even respond to emails nor answer questions on this terribly designed enterprise computing project by nesa. They also marked my trials so bad I started with like 80% and ended up with 96% after arguing (they were just plain wrong. And gradeo didn't help either some multiple choice questions I got 0 for even though I answered correctly). If how they marked that has any indication of how they marked the hsc then it really is somewhat based on luck if you get a good marker or not.

Hey, here's some things I'd suggest:

1. If you're doing software engineering that really helps in the project that you have to do, as the languages you learn in entcom really don't allow you to build a full stack application like the assessment task we were given wanted. So don't be afraid to use other programming languages like python to adhere to the task criteria better.
2. Following on from the first point It's really important to get first in the class if you can so try your hardest since the exam is so marker subjective. What I mean is most of the exam is long and short response, with literally only one SQL question, but you can look at the past paper to see.
3. You really just have to know the small differences between everything. For example: what is the difference between AI and Machine Learning, or Intelligent Systems vs Expert Systems vs Decision Support Systems. They ask questions on things like this so be prepared.
4. What I did for practice was ask gpt for lots of sql practice questions form the course specifications document as they shouldn't stray away from whats in there:
(normally its on the nesa page but I think the link as moved so here's one I found)
5. The syllabus is really the best:
https://curriculum.nsw.edu.au/learn...mputing-11-12-2022/content/year-12/fae7598c1b
It's quite short and what I did was look through it and make sure you know something about every single point. I copied and pasted it into gpt and asked what things meant and for practice problems which I then answered and asked it to give me feedback. This worked really well for me.
6. Lastly, before the exam I read over this note document which I thought was pretty good.

Good Luck... You'll probably need it with this course as I think it is quite poorly designed!
