ESL trial marks scaled down?WTF??? (1 Viewer)

hi boys and girls

i was wondering if anybody's trial exam mark was scaled down??

i got 78 for my trial and today i found out that it was scaled down

to 75????? i am upset

It doesn't matter what the mark is scaled to, because if you get scaled down, everyone else in your class is scaled down as well. It's only the ranks which are really important and they won't change.

hmmm....that never happened to me

I question the head of department of english for my school y my classes' ESL marks were scaled down. She said that she felt our classes average was too high compared to advanced and standard. I thought that was a load of crap as we worked hard for it in our trials. My ESL teacher helped us out and the head of english then agreed to sned to the board of studies our original raw marks...... hurray!
better ask your school why they scaled your marks down....every mark counts

i don't think they should compare the average between ESL and other english classes. After all, we had a different scaling then they do. so screw them!!

But do ESL is much better than standard english!! even top 2 percent in Standard English can only get about 73( scale mark), but top 2 in ESL will get over 90!
