My essay question is:

"Good crime fiction should do more than set up a puzzle to be solved. It should explore and comment on the world it depicts

Explore the ways in which crime fiction explores and comments on the world it depicts"

must refer to the big sleep and 1 supp. text (Silence of the lambs)

ok, i understand how it explores the world, but how can it 'comment' on it??

Hi. I just handed in a similar assign today.
In order to 'comment' on it, 'explore' the context i.e, the world it depicts etc and wat values YOU think it represents, whetther it be a world in which crime rate is increasing as property is more valued during the Industrial revolution or if it is a technologically adv world in which the police force is reliable etc etc, hence, commenting on it.
