J Edgar Hoover
i) Describe significant influences in the career of J Edgar Hoover
ii) “Political and civil unrest infiltrated American society”
In light of this statement, assess the extent to which J Edgar Hoover resolved problems in American society up to 1941.
NOTE: with Hoover, the first question will
always be a straight "tell us all you know about Hoover" question (for people reading this in the distant future, ie, from 2006, this is subject to change.) It is also worth mentioning that the second question, can only ever come from three questions. More than not, they will be asking you to assess Hoover's contribution to
- conservatism
- anti communism
- or law enforcement
Good luck to everyone.
