i thought CAD as % of gdp was somwhere around 4.8%, but im prolly wrong, coz im not 'updated' with these facts:p

You could probably fit in the budget outcome somewhere too. That fiscal policy in 04-05 was moderately expansionary with a balanced budget outcome of $0.7bn.

public debt is 3% of gdp down from a high of 19% in 1995 - 96.

up to date figures came out today at abs (aust bureau of statistics) so go check and it wud make a great point in ur essay :D eg, figures released yesterday by the ABS state that inflation is blah blah :D
