i cant answer that properly without knowing what different genes the Two iguanas have..? i can make something up..

A) Due to living in a specialised environment, different to the mainland iguanas, the marine iguana has undergone natural selection to evolve a new gene forming webbed toes on it's hind leg, some ribbed, some smooth depending on the allele generated from its parents, allowing for survival competing amongst other organisms in a survival of the fittest competition.

B) Due to isolation of their environment, the galapagos tortoise has undergone divergent evolution through natural selection of its predesecors to evolve a new gene that incorporates a higher lung capacity allowing for specialised hunting techniques to have developed and the formation of a new allele that codes for a darker skin colour for camouflage.

that question is pretty fucked man, i wouldnt expect that in our exam. where did u get it from??
btw, i just attempted this, dont take my word for answers hah

Actually, you're wrong. Natural selection does not make an individual evolve a certain characteristic. Characteristics come about from random mutation in the genes that produce either advantageous or disadvantageous traits. Natural Selection favours individuals in accordance to their environment and thus they survive and reproduce thus passing on their genes and favourable traits gentically to their offspring.
