hey i have some problems with excel, i am trying to enter detaisl such as numbers (ages) i.e. 5 - 9 and others but it keeps changing it to the date or another number how do i get it to display "5 - 9" ? can anyone help?

Highlight the relevant cells.

Hit Ctrl+1.

Change the cell type to "Text".
