Hey,

i was just looking through the exemptions needed in the second year actuarial degree..

For CT1 Financial mathematics which is ACST 200 in macq uni it doesnt say you need a credit???

It only mentions the minimum requirements for CT2-CT7...

Anyone got any ideas?? Do we just need a pass??

Thx

it just adds even more stress to an already stressful course...i mean...instead of passes, you need credits!

I would most likely assume so, but it means you would have to pay for those units again.

The fail will show up on your transcript. Moreover, the HD won't be counted towards your GPA.
what?

so if you do a subject and fail it. it wont count towards gpa. if you redo that same subject and pass it, it wont count towards gpa?

*confused*

sem1:
ABCD100- P
ABCD101- P
ABCD110- P
ABCD200- F

GPA = 1.5

sem2:
ABCD200- P

GPA = 1.6? or 1.5?

"It is important to note that the GPA is based on your entire academic record at Macquarie. That is the GPA includes all units in any degree program ever taken by you at Macquarie. Repeating units does not remove previous failed units from your transcript. It is not a semester based calculation. " -

http://www.deanofstudents.mq.edu.au/gpa.htm

therefore, repeated subjects should contribute to GPA.

does anyone REALLY know what the deal is?

this would be dodgy:

Sem 1:

ABCD101 - 44

(GPA 0)

Sem 2:

ABCD 101 - 100

Overall GPA = 0

Ive failed a unit before, and they include both in the GPA Calculation

Ie.

Sem 1: AA Pass, AB Pass, AC Fail, AD Credit : GPA = 7/4 = 1.75
Sem 2: AC Distinction, AE Pass, AF Credit, AG Credit : GPA 19/8 = 2.375

here with stupid
I thought they didn't, I remember someone telling me that if you fail something and redo it... the 2nd try does not count towards GPA.

Also if you fail a subject twice you gotta fill out some form to say you wanan do it again... so dont' fail twice!
