Can somebody give me a brief outline of thier experiment to view the spectral lines for hydrogen.

I didnt do it, got it off a summary

Get a hydrogen discharge tube (similar to cathode ray tube with hydrogen), use a spectroscope to view the lines. I have no idea if this is it

I'll just say that if it comes up

what you said is pretty much correct but you should also say that you made sure it was as dark as possible in the room (so other light doesnt get into spectroscope) and you applied a voltage across the hydrogen spectral tube

and that the violet line was hard to see
