they give you an estimate for 2 unit though, so if that was higher than your extension 2 mark, would it be possible to use that estimate for 2 units and take the 1 unit of extension 1 instead?
According to my Tutor, before it was extension 2math, it was previously called '4U math' or 'Additionalmaths' or sometrhing..
anwyayw, back then, they used to give every 4U student an automatic 100 in 2U because it was believed that eveyr 4U student would be achieveing that..
..
<br>
i dont know how true that is.. doesnt make much sense to me- why wouldnt kids just do 4U to get the 100 and not let 4U count//

They still assume ext 2 kids get 100 in the 2U course. You just don't get a real mark for it.

Also if you do ext 2, then your 2u doesn't count cuz you don't sit the test (and can't really cuz there on at the same time).

I know quite a number of people who almost fail 2 unit Maths but do really well in Extension 1 and Extension 2 Maths. When we had a 2 unit assessment task, all Extension 2 students had to do it in case they dropped. Some Extension 2 people ended up with crappy marks and ranks like 60% whilst others get close to full marks.
The BOS DOES NOT assume any Extension 2 people will get 100 in 2 unit. They rather assume that the Extension 2 people will get band 6 in 2 unit. I quote from the BOS: (those who have access to their results online will see this)
"Mathematics (Extension 2) students are not required to sit for the 2 Unit Mathematics examination. If this student had sat for the 2 Unit Mathematics examination it is likely that he/she would have achieved Band 6 in that course."

If you do 4u and you accelerated in 2u in the previous year etc. Then you can kiss that 2u mark goodbye. And why would they assume you will get 100 for 2u? There are people who do 4u who don't achieve even the greatest of marks

Are you still eligible to sit the 2U trial/HSC exams if you are enrolled in Ext-2? I am quite confident with getting 99+ in 2U and this apparently has a more positive effect on my UAI than a 95 in Ext-2, according to SAM. I would like 2U to count for the sake of my UAI but for the love and passion there is no way I'm dropping Ext-2 maths. I would imagine the board to have taken into account the contrasting level of difficulty between the two courses. I'm not quire sure where this points me.
